"Sri Venkateswara College of Engineering and Technology (Autonomous) (SVCET), Chittoor, is a NBA and NAAC Accredited Institution. Established in the year 1998, the Institute is Affiliated to Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Ananthapuramu and Recognized by AICTE, New Delhi. It is also Recognized by the UGC under Section 2(f) and 12(b). The Institute has been Granted Autonomy by UGC from Academic Year 2011-2012. The Institute offers Seven(8) UG and Thirteen(13)PG programs in Engineering and Technology, MBA and MCA."
The college is located on high way in an area of 65 acres of scenic beauty at R.V.S. Nagar, Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. The College is located seven kilometers from Chittoor and 60 KM from Tirupathi, the famous hill shrine of Lord Sri Venkateswara.
The college has spacious well-designed, adequately furnished and ventilated classrooms. All the laboratories of engineering and sciences are well equipped with the required equipments. The college is facilitated with a 250KVA capacity generator to ensure uninterrupted power supply for the conduct of academic activities. The laboratories and workshops are fully equipped with the state-of-art of facilities; particularly the computer centre, CAD/CAM center, Automated Library; Digital Library, internet and language labs are value added assets to the college.
The library has total books volumes of 49348 and 8223 titles, 132 national journals, and 74 international journals along with 34 magazines and 752 IEEE Online Journals. The students are encouraged to make full use of the library and other facilities. The college and hostels are equiped with wifi and LAN with 380 Mbps high speed Internet connectivity.
The college has accomplished remarkable growth in the past eighteen years. The students’ admission has been growing steadily year-by-year as in the case, in the first cradle year, i.e. 1998 the sanctioned intake was 180, which has now increased to 1926.SVCET has students from 43 countries. As the intake of students multiplies, so does the infrastructure of the college, which is constantly under expansion to keep pace with the growing need and trends of technology. In this short span of time, SVCET enjoys the reputation of being one of the best engineering colleges in Andhra Pradesh nestled in serene atmosphere providing quality education. SURGING AHEAD WITH NBA
The institute has obtained accreditation under Tier-1 for 5 UG programmes w.e.f 19.05.2015 namely B.Tech. in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE), Mechanical Engineering (ME), Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Science & Engineering (CSE),Civil Engineering for two years from National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi.
At present, there are around 4000 students pursuing their M.Tech, B.Tech., MBA and MCA programs. Pre final and final year students are given rigorous training in meeting the challenges of the competitive environment. The students in general are constantly monitored with respect to their performance and discipline inside the campus. Parents are periodically briefed and kept updated about the performance of their children. Counselors are appointed to carryout this job and they counsel every week to assess student’s academic performance and in various activities. Extra curricular and co-curricular activities are conducted throughout the year to develop and mould the skills of the students to help them to improve their confidence level, personality, and technical skills etc., which are important to meet the industry expectations.
The college has well-experienced and qualified teaching staff committed to take up the task of imparting quality technical education by well designed teaching learning mechanisms. TRAINING AND PLACEMENT DIVISION
The College has a well equipped Training and Placement Cell headed by Dean, Training and Placement Officer supported by a Professor, Associate Professor and Department Co-ordinators. The division plays a dual role of assessing ever-changing industrial requirements and estimating inherent talents of the students. The division has been grooming the students by organizing various programs like Group Discussions, HR Interaction sessions, Communications Skills Programs, Mock Interview etc., to meet the Industrial requirements. The division also conducts programme on Entrepreneurship Development. Training classes are accommodated in the regular timetable. A degree consortium has been formed consisting of 65 degree colleges of Chittoor District with a mission to help the rural people of the district.
RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT CELL
Research and development activities have far reaching implications on the success of a Technical Institute. SVCET takes pride in its active involvement in R&D activities to provide quality education to students. The integration of teaching and research has been a major force for enriching the relevance of education imparted to students at SVCET.
The college has established a language laboratory for the students to improve their communication skills and prepare for TOFEL, GRE and other competitive examinations.
ENTREPRENEURSHIP DEVELOPMENT CELL
The Entrepreneurship Development Cell was launched in the year 2007-2008 after receiving the grant for the AICTE Cell encourages students in AICTE approved polytechnics and technical institutions to consider self employment as a career option, provides training in Entrepreneurship through modular courses and increases the relevance of Management particularly in the non-corporate and under managed sectors.

Sports participation is a vital aspect for all ages and a powerful medium of interaction with other institutions. College has play courts for several games like Badminton, Cricket, Volleyball, Shuttle, Tennicoit etc., for both men and women. The College has conducted many sports events inside the campus and many of our students have participated in Zonal and State level competitions and won several prizes in various sports events. Inter Departmental Sports Activities are also conducted and several Students have won prizes for their respective departments.
College has a NSS unit, which establishes a meaningful linkage between the campus and community. Activities such as Blood donation, collection of donations for people affected in natural disasters, road safety rallies and some socio environmental activities are undertaken by our students.
In order to encourage students’ innate talents, the College cultural committee conducts events like Essay writing, general quiz, dumb C, Elocution, Mimicry, Volte-Face, Extempore, Mock show, Singing, Skit etc. It gives an opportunity to the students to show their skills, display their leadership qualities and to unleash their latent and hidden talents.
